Hyundai has officially unveiled the Creta Electric in India, a highly anticipated electric vehicle (EV) that promises to shake up the market. This launch comes after months of speculation and excitement among automotive enthusiasts. The Creta Electric will make its official debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, scheduled for January 17-22. As Hyundai’s first locally produced electric SUV, it will be positioned below the Ioniq 5 in the company’s expanding EV lineup. With its modern features and competitive pricing, the Creta Electric aims to compete with established players in the mid-size electric SUV segment, including Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.

Hyundai Creta Electric Launch Date

The Hyundai Creta Electric is set to launch at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which will take place from January 17 to January 22. This event will serve as a significant platform for showcasing the latest advancements in electric mobility. The Creta Electric will be available in four distinct variants: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. Each variant will cater to different customer preferences and budgets. Hyundai plans to offer a wide range of color options for the Creta Electric, including eight monotone choices and two dual-tone options. Among these, three will feature a matte finish, adding a touch of sophistication to the vehicle’s appearance. This extensive customization will allow buyers to select a model that best reflects their style and personality.

Hyundai Creta Electric Features

The Hyundai Creta Electric boasts a design that closely resembles its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. It features a pixelated graphic front grille, along with front and rear bumpers that enhance its sporty look. The vehicle is equipped with pixelated LED reverse lamps and LED tail lamps, which contribute to its modern aesthetic. The 17-inch aero alloy wheels are fitted with Low Rolling Resistance (LRR) tyres, improving aerodynamics and extending the vehicle’s range. One of the standout features of the Creta Electric is its Active Air Flaps (AAF) system. This innovative technology helps manage airflow, keeping the vehicle’s components cool while also enhancing its aerodynamic performance.

Customers will have the option to choose between two battery pack configurations: a 51.4 kWh Long Range option and a 42 kWh variant. The Long Range model is expected to deliver an impressive driving range of up to 473 kilometers on a single charge, while the 42 kWh version offers a range of 390 kilometers. Charging the vehicle is convenient, with the ability to go from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 58 minutes using DC fast charging. Alternatively, the 11kW Smart Connected Wall Box charger (AC Charger) can fully charge the vehicle in about four hours. Although Hyundai has not disclosed specific details about the powertrain, the Long Range variant is reported to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 7.9 seconds.

In addition to its impressive performance, the Creta Electric is packed with advanced technology. It features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing users to power external devices both inside and outside the vehicle. The i-Pedal technology enables drivers to control acceleration, deceleration, and stopping using only the accelerator pedal, enhancing the driving experience. For added convenience, the Creta Electric incorporates a shift-by-wire system, which replaces traditional mechanical linkages with electronic connections. This modern approach promises a more futuristic and seamless driving experience.
