HMD Launches Amped Buds with Impressive Features

HMD Global has unveiled its latest truly wireless stereo (TWS) headset, the Amped Buds, just ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. Promising an impressive 95 hours of playback time, including the charging case, these earbuds also offer a unique feature that allows users to charge their smartphones by placing the case on compatible devices. Alongside the Amped Buds, HMD introduced new smartphones designed to enhance teen safety and a range of FC Barcelona-themed handsets.

Pricing and Availability of HMD Amped Buds

The HMD Amped Buds are priced at EUR 199, which is approximately Rs. 18,100. They are expected to hit select markets in April. The earbuds will be available in three vibrant colors: Black, Cyan, and Pink. However, HMD has not yet confirmed whether the Amped Buds will be launched in India, leaving potential customers eager for updates.

Specifications and Features of HMD Amped Buds

The HMD Amped Buds feature a sleek in-ear design, complete with silicone ear tips and a stem for comfort. Each earbud is equipped with a 10mm driver and three microphones, enabling advanced features such as active noise cancellation (ANC) and environmental noise cancellation (ENC). This design aims to provide users with an immersive audio experience.

Additionally, the Amped Buds can connect to two devices simultaneously and support Google Fast Pair for quick connectivity. With an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, these earbuds are built for durability. The charging case, rated at IPX4, is compact and houses a robust 1,600mAh battery that can be charged via a USB Type-C port.

When ANC is turned off, the Amped Buds can deliver up to 8 hours of battery life, which decreases to 4 hours with ANC enabled. The charging case extends the total playback time to an impressive 95 hours. Furthermore, the case doubles as a portable power bank, capable of charging compatible smartphones wirelessly, including the HMD Skyline and recent iPhone models. For instance, it can charge the Skyline’s battery by 13.8% wirelessly and 20.7% via a wired connection, while the iPhone 16 Pro can receive a 20% boost wirelessly and 24% when wired.
