Gandhinagar, Gujarat: A significant step towards India’s ambitious mining strategy for Vikshit Bharat 2047 was marked on the first day of the Rashtriya Khanij Chintan Shivir 2026. The event commenced with the formal inauguration by Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Shri Bhupendra Patel, alongside Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, and other dignitaries including Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri C. R. Patil, and Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha. This gathering aims to spearhead reforms and foster innovation in the mining sector, emphasizing sustainable practices and enhanced project execution.

The initial sessions involved a collaborative atmosphere where Ministers of Mines from various states and senior officials addressed numerous challenges facing the mining industry. This included discussions around project implementation obstacles, improved inter-departmental cooperation, and state-specific issues. The presentations delivered practical solutions and best practices, setting the groundwork for fruitful partnerships between Central and state authorities aimed at boosting governance and operational effectiveness in the mining sector.

In the evening, the Union Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya engaged with the attendees, stressing the Chintan Shivir’s goals and the critical nature of the Labour Code in refining workforce management within the industry.
