Green Technology in MSMEs

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MPMI) is implementing the MPMI Champions program in order to improve the competitiveness of MPMIs to make them competitive on foreign markets. MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification Component Scheme under MSME Champions Scheme provides financial support for technology upgrade to switch to zero effect solutions/pollution control measures/cleaner technology.

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has taken several initiatives to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in MSMEs. These include, among others, the MSME Innovation Programme, the Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Program (ESDP) and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) to generate more jobs through work self-employment or entrepreneurship of MSMEs in the country.

This information was given today by the Minister of State for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, in a written response to the Lok Sabha.
