Government Hosts Youth Engagement Conference in Bengaluru
In an ambitious move to bolster youth engagement across India, the Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports will host a two-day Chintan Shivir from March 6 to 7, 2026. The conference will be held at the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and aims to gather senior officials and grassroots functionaries to enhance youth program implementations nationwide.
This significant event will witness participation from officials representing several states, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra. The Chintan Shivir is positioned as a collaborative forum for cross-learning, sharing best practices, and strategic policy discussions related to youth initiatives facilitated through Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) and the National Service Scheme (NSS).
Key Officials to Lead Discussions
The event will feature prominent figures such as Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports. Additional participation includes Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary of the Department of Youth Affairs, and Shri Nitesh Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, who will join other senior officials in engaging in crucial discussions.
Two Days of Engaging Sessions
The first day of the Chintan Shivir will center around the theme “Samvaad Se Samadhaan,” focusing on dialogue, policy alignment, and the exchange of best practices. Participants will deliberate on digital youth engagement initiatives via the MY Bharat portal, the implementation of the 2026 Annual Action Plan, and strategies for inter-ministerial convergence to optimize resource allocation for youth empowerment.
The following day will transition to “Samadhaan Se Sankalp,” featuring thematic breakout sessions aimed at converting ideas into actionable strategies. These sessions will involve collaborative policy labs, solution design exercises, and action planning initiatives, all designed to enhance program delivery and coordination among states. Additionally, participants will discuss the FIT India initiative and outline a roadmap for the forthcoming Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue in 2027.
