The updates include a collaborative whiteboard tool, document creation capabilities, and an AI assistant designed to help users summarize and generate content. Innovative AI Features
Goodnotes’ new AI assistant is designed to accommodate various input methods, including handwriting, typing, sketches, and voice commands. This versatile tool can summarize meetings, generate visuals such as charts and diagrams, proofread text, and create templates for documents and note-taking. In addition to AI capabilities, Goodnotes is launching a collaborative whiteboard feature that enables users to work together on a blank canvas using text and diagrams. The Pro plan, available for $35.99 per year, includes additional features such as integration with Google Calendar and OneDrive, private link sharing, collaboration tools, and an AI bot for recording and transcribing meetings. While the Pro plan has limitations on AI usage, users can purchase an AI pass for $10 per month to access unlimited AI credits.

Goodnotes continues to cater to a diverse user base, having started as an iPad app in 2011 and expanding to support iOS, Android, and Windows. The company reports over 25 million monthly active users, a notable increase from 21 million in 2023. For those who prefer a one-time purchase option, Goodnotes still offers a version for Apple device users at $35.99, although this option lacks cloud sync and cross-platform support. As Goodnotes evolves, it aims to become a well-rounded notetaking app suitable for various scenarios and devices, appealing to both students and professionals alike.
