(G)I-DLE Celebrates 7th Anniversary with New Name: i-dle

The K-POP sensation (G)I-DLE has officially rebranded itself as i-dle, marking a significant shift in their identity as they celebrate their seventh anniversary. The group has dropped the โ€œG,โ€ which stood for โ€œGirl,โ€ to embrace a more inclusive and limitless musical direction. This change reflects their desire to transcend gender labels and focus on their artistic evolution, as they embark on a new chapter in their career.

New Identity and Logo

The transition from (G)I-DLE to i-dle signifies more than just a name change; it represents a fresh start for the group, which debuted on May 2, 2018. Members MIYEON, MINNIE, SOYEON, YUQI, and SHUHUA announced the rebranding through their social media channels, emphasizing their commitment to this new identity. Alongside the name change, the group unveiled a new logo featuring the lowercase letters ‘i, d, l, e,’ arranged with circular dots to create a visually striking design. This logo symbolizes the group’s unlimited potential and connectivity, with five โ€˜iโ€™s coming together to form a star, showcasing their unity as a collective.

The rebranding aligns with their artistic vision, as i-dle has always been known for their active involvement in the creative process of their music. They have consistently produced, written, and composed their albums, and this new chapter will continue to reflect their authenticity and unique style.

Contract Renewals and Future Aspirations

In December, all members renewed their contracts with CUBE Entertainment, solidifying their commitment to the group and its future. This rebranding is a bold statement of their ambitions and aspirations as they aim to expand their musical horizons. The members expressed their excitement about the new direction and are eager to showcase their enhanced teamwork and creativity to their fans.
