Scene 1: Lakshmi’s New Rules and Adjustments
The day began with Lakshmi addressing Mukta about a serious matter. “Remind your children that the money Mohit used to give us for luxuries is gone now,” she said firmly. Her tone made it clear that things were changing around the house. Later, Lakshmi declared, “I will not give up my bed for anyone.” Aditi quickly stepped in, trying to ease the tension. “You can sleep on the bed, Lakshmi. We will manage on the floor,” she offered kindly. Lakshmi raised an eyebrow at her. “Why don’t you sleep on the bed with me?” she suggested. Aditi hesitated, replying, “I still have a little shame left.” She then added, “I’ll sleep with these people.” Aditi turned to Teju and asked, “Can you adjust and sleep on the floor just for today?” Teju nodded without hesitation. “Yes, I can,” she replied softly. Lakshmi couldn’t help but comment on their willingness to compromise.
Scene 2: Chores and Responsibilities
Lakshmi continued setting new rules. “From tomorrow, Mukta and Teju will handle the house chores. I won’t do them anymore,” she announced. Sonali, who had been listening quietly, spoke up. “We’ll do it,” she assured Lakshmi. Turning to Mukta, Sonali added, “You need to understand we’re not rich anymore. Whatever chores there are, we’ll do them together.” Lakshmi glanced at Teju, who hadn’t said much yet. “Sonali is saying this, but you haven’t said a word,” Lakshmi pointed out. Teju responded calmly, “I’ll help my mother with the chores. If I don’t know how to do something, I’ll learn.” Aditi chimed in, offering her support. “Teju, I’ll teach you how to handle the household tasks,” she promised. With that, Sonali excused herself, leaving the others to figure out their sleeping arrangements. Mukta, her children, and Aditi settled down to sleep on the floor.
Scene 3: Vedant’s Pillow Request
As everyone tried to get comfortable on the hard floor, Vedant broke the silence. “Can I have a pillow?” he asked innocently. Teju looked at him and smiled gently. “Can you adjust for today? I’ll buy you a pillow tomorrow, I promise,” she reassured him. Vedant thought for a moment before nodding. “Okay, I’ll manage,” he agreed. The room grew quiet again as everyone attempted to rest. However, Aditi lay awake, her mind filled with thoughts of Mohit. She became emotional, regretting that she hadn’t seen his face one last time. Her quiet sobs caught Lakshmi’s attention. “Shut up and go to sleep!” Lakshmi snapped at her. Despite her harsh words, Lakshmi herself stayed awake, thinking about Mohit. Alone with her thoughts, she cried silently, overwhelmed by memories of him.
Scene 4: Sneaking into Neil’s Room
Meanwhile, Amai, Nandini, Prachi, and Yash decided to sneak into Neil’s room. They found him sitting alone, staring intently at his phone. As they entered, Yash tripped and fell onto the floor, making a loud noise. Startled, Neil quickly hid his phone. The group gathered around him, noticing his troubled expression. “What’s wrong with you?” Amai asked. “Ever since you returned from Amaravati, you’ve seemed upset.” Neil shook his head. “There’s nothing wrong,” he insisted. Nandini pressed further. “Leena told us you went to visit someone’s family after their father passed away. Who are the members of that family?” Neil hesitated before answering, “A lady and two children.” Confused, he asked, “Why are you asking all this?” Amai explained, “We’re worried about that family and how they’ll manage everything.”
Scene 5: Neil’s Outburst About Marriage
Neil grew defensive. “Don’t make a joke out of this,” he warned them. Changing the topic, Nandini asked, “Are you ready to check out wedding outfits tomorrow?” The question triggered an unexpected reaction from Neil. He burst out angrily, “I’m so tired of hearing the word ‘marriage’! Is there nothing else in life besides marriage?” His outburst shocked Nandini. “I’m sorry for asking,” she stammered, preparing to leave the room. Realizing he had overreacted, Neil apologized. “I’m sorry too. I didn’t mean to snap at you,” he said sincerely. Amai tried one last time to get through to him. “Tell us what’s bothering you,” she urged. But Neil remained silent, unwilling to share his struggles.
