Gemini 3 Launch, EA’s F1 Strategy Shift, and Windows 11’s AI Alert

EA has announced that it will not release a new game in its F1 franchise next year, opting instead for a paid downloadable content (DLC) update to enhance F1 25 in line with significant regulatory changes in the upcoming season. The company hinted at a complete overhaul for F1 27, which is set to launch in 2027, promising an authentic and innovative representation of Formula 1 racing. Meanwhile, Google has unveiled Gemini 3, its latest AI model, which is now available across various services, marking a significant advancement in AI capabilities. Additionally, Apple has achieved a manufacturing milestone by 3D printing the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Series 11 cases from recycled titanium, while Microsoft has issued a warning about potential security risks associated with AI tools in Windows 11.

EA’s F1 Franchise Update

EA Sports has confirmed that fans of the F1 gaming franchise will have to wait until 2027 for the next full game release. Instead of a new title, the company will provide a paid DLC for F1 25, which will incorporate major changes due to upcoming technical regulations in Formula 1. These changes include redesigned power units and enhanced hybrid systems, as well as active aerodynamics at both the front and rear of the cars. EA has not yet disclosed the release date or pricing for the DLC, but details are expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2026. The anticipation for F1 27 is building, as EA promises a “deeply authentic and innovative representation” of the sport, aiming to enhance the gaming experience for fans and players alike.

Google Launches Gemini 3

Google has officially launched Gemini 3, the latest iteration of its AI model, now available in preview mode across its services. This release marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Google’s AI capabilities, as Gemini celebrates two years of development. The new model is designed to enhance user interactions by providing smarter, more concise responses. Gemini 3 Pro has shown impressive performance in AI benchmarks, outperforming its predecessor, Gemini 2.5 Pro, in various tests. Notably, it achieved an 81% score in the multimodal understanding and reasoning benchmark, surpassing both its predecessor and OpenAI’s ChatGPT 5.1. The introduction of Gemini 3 also includes the Gemini 3 Deep Think model, which is currently undergoing safety testing before being made available to Google AI Ultra subscribers. This launch is expected to significantly improve the user experience across Google’s platforms.

Apple’s 3D Printing Breakthrough

In a groundbreaking move, Apple has begun 3D printing the titanium cases for its Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Series 11 using 100% recycled aerospace-grade titanium. This innovative manufacturing process not only reduces raw material usage by half compared to traditional methods but also aligns with Apple’s commitment to sustainability. The company estimates that this approach will save over 400 metric tons of titanium in the current year. The 3D printing process involves six lasers that build each watch case layer by layer, achieving precision down to 60 microns. Apple executives emphasize that this shift to 3D printing does not compromise the quality or design of the products. Instead, it opens new possibilities for improved performance and design flexibility. This initiative is part of Apple’s broader goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, and the company hopes to inspire other manufacturers to adopt similar sustainable practices.

Microsoft’s AI Security Concerns

Microsoft has issued a warning to Windows 11 users regarding the potential risks associated with AI agents that could inadvertently install malware on devices. As the company integrates more agentic AI tools into its operating system, it acknowledges the security vulnerabilities that may arise. These AI models can exhibit functional limitations, including the potential to produce unexpected outputs or “hallucinations.” One specific risk highlighted is cross-prompt injection (XPIA), where malicious content embedded in user interface elements could override AI instructions, leading to unintended actions such as data breaches or malware installations. Microsoft’s caution comes amid its push to enhance AI capabilities within Windows 11, raising concerns about user awareness and the overall security of millions of PCs. The company aims to address these challenges while continuing to innovate in the AI space.
