FASTag Annual Pass Surpasses 50 Lakh Users in Six Months
In a remarkable achievement for India’s transport sector, the FASTag Annual Pass has exceeded 50 lakh users, with more than 26.55 crore transactions completed in just six months since its launch on August 15, 2025. This milestone showcases the growing popularity of the Annual Pass among private vehicle owners who seek a convenient and cost-effective way to travel on the country’s National Highways and Expressways.
FASTag Annual Pass Gains Traction Among Drivers
Recent statistics indicate that approximately 28% of all car transactions on the National Highway network are now conducted using the FASTag Annual Pass. This indicates a significant shift towards the pass as a preferred option for motorists looking to streamline their travel experience.
Leading Locations for Annual Pass Usage
Particular regions have stood out in embracing this travel solution. The Bijwasan Fee Plaza in the Delhi NCR has become the top location, where around 57% of car crossings utilize the Annual Pass. Following closely, the Mundaka fee plaza and Jhinjholi Fee Plaza in Sonipat each account for about 53% of non-commercial vehicle crossings with the Annual Pass.
Regional Insights on Pass Adoption
A regional breakdown reveals that Chandigarh is at the forefront of Annual Pass usage, responsible for 14% of transactions nationwide. Tamil Nadu follows with 12.3%, while Delhi accounts for 11.5%. These figures demonstrate the broad acceptance of the FASTag Annual Pass across various geographic locations, from busy urban centers in the north to southern states.
Simplifying Toll Payments for Drivers
The FASTag Annual Pass is valid at approximately 1,150 fee plazas on National Highways and Expressways, making it easier for drivers to manage their toll expenses. By allowing a one-time fee payment of Rs. 3,000 for a year’s validity or 200 toll plaza crossings, the Annual Pass eliminates the need for frequent FASTag recharges. It is available for all non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag, and activation occurs within two hours after the payment is processed through the Rajmargyatra App or the NHAI website.
Encouraging Seamless Travel
The increasing adoption of the FASTag Annual Pass is a clear indication of its success in facilitating smooth and affordable travel along India’s extensive network of National Highways. As more users embrace this system, it reinforces the commitment to enhancing the ease of commuting for all Indian motorists.
