The target of 10% ethanol blending set in the “India Ethanol Blending Roadmap 2020-25” for ESY 2021-22 has already been achieved and the Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (WTO) have started to sell E20 gasoline (blended with 20% ethanol) across the country. Additionally, the National Biofuels Policy – 2018 aims for a 20% blend of ethanol into gasoline by Ethanol Supply Year (ESY) 2025-26.
