Pre-orders for the laptop will commence on March 4, with the 13-inch variant priced at ₹1,19,900, or ₹1,08,900 for educational purchases. The larger 15-inch model will start at ₹1,44,900, with an educational price of ₹1,33,900. Customers can choose from a variety of colors, including Sky Blue, Midnight, Starlight, and Silver. The laptops will officially launch on March 11 and can be purchased through Apple’s official retail stores, the Apple Online Store, and authorized resellers.
Key Features of the MacBook Air M5
The standout feature of the MacBook Air M5 is its new M5 chipset, which boasts a significantly faster CPU and a next-generation GPU, complete with a Neural Engine integrated into every core. This chipset includes up to a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, enabling performance that is up to four times faster for AI tasks compared to the previous MacBook Air with the M4 chipset. Additionally, it offers up to 9.5 times the speed of the original M1 chipset for similar tasks.
Apple has also enhanced the unified memory, which now operates at 153GB per second, reflecting a 28% improvement over the M4. The base storage has been doubled to 512GB, up from 256GB, and users can opt for configurations with up to 4TB SSD. The new SSD technology promises read and write speeds that are twice as fast as those found in the previous generation.

Apple claims that the MacBook Air M5 can deliver up to 18 hours of battery life, making it a reliable choice for users on the go. Both the 13.6-inch and 15.3-inch models feature a Liquid Retina display, offering 500 nits of brightness for vibrant visuals. The laptop is equipped with a 12MP Centre Stage camera that supports Desk View, enhancing video conferencing experiences.
