Empowering Women: SHG Members Visit Amrit Udyan on International Day
In a remarkable event celebrating women-led development, over 150 members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) from Tribal and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) received a special invitation from the Ministry of Rural Development to visit Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 10, 2026. This initiative was part of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), aimed at promoting social inclusion and recognizing the contributions of women in rural communities.
Participation in the visit allowed these women, hailing from some of the country’s most remote areas, to represent diverse Tribal and PVTG communities across various States and Union Territories. This gathering celebrated India’s rich tapestry of cultures, languages, and traditions while emphasizing the unyielding strength of women’s collectives under the DAY-NRLM.

Amrit Udyan opened its gates from February 3 to March 31, 2026, specifically dedicating March 10 to women, particularly those in Tribal Women Self Help Groups.
