The Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, MSME, through the Khadi & Village Industries Commission, is implementing the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) in the country including the state of Madhya Pradesh to create new micro units. Under the PMEGP, beneficiaries in the general category are eligible for the cash grant of the margin of 25% of the project cost in rural areas and 15% in urban areas. For special categories such as SC/ST/OBC/Minorities/Female/Ex-Military/Transgender/Disabled/NER/Country Districts/Hills and Borders etc., the cash margin is 35% in rural areas and 25% in urban areas. The maximum cost of the project is Rs. 50 lakh in manufacturing and Rs. 20 lakh in the service sector.
