Dubai Unveils ‘Shahrukhz’ Tower Honoring Shah Rukh Khan with a Statue

Yesterday, a momentous event took place in Mumbai as Shah Rukh Khan, the iconic Bollywood superstar, inaugurated a tower named in his honor, Shahrukhz By Danube. The launch, hosted by Rizwan Sajan, founder and chairman of Danube Group, was filled with laughter and heartfelt moments. During the event, Khan expressed his gratitude and shared touching sentiments about his late mother, while also revealing the tower’s unique features, including a statue of himself at the entrance.

The atmosphere at the launch was electric as Shah Rukh Khan made his entrance, warmly greeting Rizwan Sajan and sharing a playful moment with host Farah Khan. Their light-hearted exchange included a cheeky kiss on the cheek, prompting laughter from the audience. Khan, known for his charisma, remarked, “Main Eid ka chand jaisa ho gaya hoon. Bahar kam aata hoon. Lekin jab aata hoon, tab kamaal aata hoon!” This statement resonated with the crowd, who responded with enthusiastic applause. Khan also shared that he had initially inquired about the event being held in Dubai, but Sajan emphasized his desire to launch it in Mumbai, highlighting the connection to his roots.

Features of Shahrukhz By Danube

Following Khan’s remarks, Adel Sajan, Managing Director of Danube Group, took the stage to outline the impressive features of Shahrukhz By Danube. The skyscraper will stand 55 stories tall and will include a helipad and an air taxi station, set to debut in Dubai in 2026. This innovative addition aims to enhance the experience for visitors arriving at the tower. Adel expressed his vision for the building, stating that it is designed not just as an office space but as a tourist attraction. He drew parallels to the popularity of Mannat, Khan’s residence in Mumbai, suggesting that Shahrukhz will become a must-visit destination for fans and tourists alike.

A Tribute to a Bollywood Legend

One of the most striking features of the tower will be a statue of Shah Rukh Khan in his signature pose, prominently displayed at the entrance. Adel Sajan explained that the intention behind this design is to create a space that draws people in, much like how millions flock to see Khan’s home in Mumbai. He anticipates that visitors will line up to capture a photo with the statue, further solidifying Khan’s status as a beloved figure in both India and Dubai.

As the event concluded, Khan expressed his overwhelming gratitude for the honor. He remarked, “Meri maa zinda hoti toh bahut khush hoti! It’s a very big honour. When I take my kids to Dubai, I’ll tell them, ‘Yeh dekh. Papa ki building hai’ although the building is owned by Rizwan bhai! Lekin naam toh mera likha hoga.” His heartfelt words encapsulated the significance of the occasion, marking a new chapter in his illustrious career.
