DRI seizes 31.42 kg Alprazolam worth Rs. 3.14 crore

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) raids a makeshift clandestine laboratory in Nagar Kurnool district of Telangana and seizes 31.42 kg of Alprazolam (a psychotropic substance under the NDPS Act, 1985) and arrests one person.

Based on specific information, an improvised clandestine laboratory producing Alprazolam was arrested in a remote poultry farm amidst agricultural fields on the outskirts of Vattem village (Bijinepally Mandal), Nagar Kurnool district of Telangana.

The planned strike resulted in the seizure of 31.42 kg of Alprazolam as finished product (approximate value of Rs. 3.14 crore in illicit market) and workpiece material along with machinery and other equipment used in production.

The person involved in the manufacturing of Alprazolam has been arrested and further investigation is ongoing.
