DELIVERY OF SECOND ACTCM BARGE, LSAM 16 (YARD 126)

The contract for the construction and delivery of eleven munitions barges has been concluded with M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane, an MPMI, in accordance with the Government of India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives. Second barge of the LSAM 16 series (Yard 126) was handed over to the Indian Navy on 06 September 23in the presence of Commander MV Raj Krishna, CoY(Mbi). The barge was built as per Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) classification rules with a service life of 30 years. With all major and ancillary equipment/systems supplied by indigenous manufacturers, the barge is the proud flagship of the MoD’s ‘Make in India’ initiatives.

The introduction of ACTCM Barge will give impetus to the operational commitments of IN facilitating the transport, loading and unloading of items/ammunition IN Ships both along the docks and in outer ports.
