Leading the charge is the open-world platformer, Sonic Frontiers. This month also introduces several other engaging games, including Forspoken, Rabbids: Party of Legends, WRC Generations, and Jurassic World Evolution 2. All these titles will be available for PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium members starting December 17. Additionally, Sony has announced new offerings for PS VR2 and the Classics Catalog, ensuring that players have plenty of options to explore this holiday season.

PS Plus Game Catalog Titles for December

The highlight of this monthโ€™s lineup is Sonic Frontiers, marking the franchise’s first venture into an open-world format. Unlike previous Sonic games, which featured linear levels, Sonic Frontiers allows players to explore a vast island filled with secrets and challenges. Players will control Sonic as he speeds through this expansive environment, collecting rings, grinding rails, and solving various puzzles.

The game retains the core platforming mechanics that fans love while introducing a new level of freedom. Players can explore different areas at their own pace and tackle challenges in any order they choose. This open-world design encourages exploration and creativity, making each playthrough unique. Sonic Frontiers will be available on both PS4 and PS5, appealing to a wide range of players.

Another exciting addition to the catalog is Forspoken, an action-RPG from Square Enix. Players step into the shoes of Frey, a New Yorker who discovers a magical artifact that transports her to a fantastical world. In this new realm, Frey must harness her magical powers to protect Athia from various threats. The game features a dynamic magical traversal system, allowing players to leap across vast distances and navigate challenging terrains. Forspoken promises an immersive experience, showcasing stunning visuals and engaging gameplay. It will be available exclusively on PS5.

Rally Racing and Party Games

In addition to the open-world adventures, December’s lineup includes WRC Generations, a rally racing simulation that promises an authentic experience. This game is a licensed recreation of the 2022 World Rally Championship, featuring real-life rally cars and tracks. WRC Generations introduces hybrid models, complete with new driving mechanics that enhance the racing experience. Players can participate in various modes, including an online Leagues mode that allows them to challenge opponents from around the world.

Moreover, the multiplayer party game Rabbids: Party of Legends joins the catalog. This title offers a fun and chaotic experience, perfect for gatherings with friends and family. Players can engage in a variety of mini-games, showcasing the quirky humor and charm of the Rabbids franchise. The combination of racing and party games adds diversity to the PS Plus offerings, catering to different gaming preferences.

PS Plus Classics Catalog and PS VR2 Titles

For those who appreciate classic gaming, the PS Plus Classics Catalog has some exciting additions this month. Deluxe and Premium members will gain access to three beloved titles: Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, and Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. These classic games will be available on both PS4 and PS5, allowing a new generation of players to experience these iconic adventures.

Additionally, PS VR2 users will receive Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, an immersive experience that transports players to the Star Wars universe. This title allows players to interact with familiar characters and explore iconic locations, making it a must-play for fans of the franchise. All titles from the PS Plus Game Catalog, Classics Catalog, and PS VR2 will be playable starting December 17, providing a wealth of gaming options for subscribers this holiday season.
