Daryl Mitchell has surged to the top of the ICC men’s ODI batting rankings, surpassing Virat Kohli after an impressive series against India that saw New Zealand clinch a 2–1 victory. Mitchell’s remarkable performance, highlighted by back-to-back centuries, has earned him 845 rating points, while Kohli now holds 795 points, placing him in second. Mitchell’s Stellar Performance
Daryl Mitchell’s ascent to the No. 1 spot in the ODI rankings is a testament to his exceptional form. His two centuries in the recent series against India were pivotal in securing New Zealand’s victory. With these performances, Mitchell has now accumulated four ODI centuries against India, putting him just one behind AB de Villiers for the most ODI hundreds by a South African batter against the Indian team. This is not the first time Mitchell has reached the top of the ODI rankings. England’s Jofra Archer follows closely in second place with 670 points.
Rashid Khan’s success extends beyond ODIs, as he has also made progress in the T20I rankings, climbing two spots to second among bowlers after taking two wickets in Afghanistan’s opening match against the West Indies in Dubai. His teammate Mujeeb Ur Rahman has also advanced, moving up two spots to joint 14th in the T20I bowling rankings. Additionally, Ibrahim Zadran has improved his standing in the T20I batting rankings, climbing five places to reach 15th.
