DARPG Releases 34th CPGRAMS Report for States/UTs for May 2025

The recent report highlights four notable success stories of grievance resolution from various States and Union Territories (UTs) in India. These cases illustrate how individuals faced challenges in their daily lives and sought help through the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) portal. Each story showcases the effective response of authorities in addressing these grievances, ultimately leading to positive outcomes for the individuals involved.

Resolving GST Registration Delays

One significant case involved Shri Rajesh Choudhary, who encountered repeated rejections of his GST registration application over three months. Despite his efforts to address all departmental queries, the delays severely impacted his micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) startup, as potential clients required a valid GST number to conduct business. Frustrated by the lack of transparency regarding the reasons for rejection, Choudhary turned to the CPGRAMS portal for assistance. Following his grievance submission, the concerned officer reviewed the application, verified the details, and ultimately approved the GST registration. As a result, Choudhary received his GST number, effectively resolving his issue and allowing his business to move forward.

Addressing Power Supply Irregularities

Another success story comes from Shri Pawan Rajput, a resident of Rajendra Nagar in Bareilly, who faced persistent power outages due to a faulty connection from a nearby electricity pole. The frequent disruptions not only caused discomfort during hot summer nights but also posed risks to his household appliances. Despite multiple complaints made through the electricity helpline, the issues remained unresolved, with complaints often closed without action. Seeking a solution, Rajput filed a grievance on the CPGRAMS portal. Authorities promptly reviewed the situation, visited the site, and rectified the faulty connection. Within just 15 days, the grievance was resolved, restoring reliable power supply to Rajput’s home.

Combatting Mosquito Infestations

In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Faiz Mohammad Ayyub raised a critical concern regarding stagnant rainwater around his home, which led to a severe mosquito infestation. Additionally, the overgrowth of poisonous weeds posed a safety risk for his family due to potential snake sightings. Ayyub sought immediate action by filing a grievance on the CPGRAMS portal, requesting area cleaning, mosquito control, and garbage clearance. The authorities responded effectively by cleaning the area, removing the overgrown vegetation, and conducting mosquito repellent spraying. This swift action led to the resolution of Ayyub’s grievance, ensuring a safer living environment for his family.

Relocating Overhead Power Lines

Smt. Shakraben Ratilal Solanki from Umrai, Vadodara, faced a significant obstacle when construction on her property was halted due to an overhead electricity service line. Despite her request for relocation to the local office, no action was taken, and she was informed that she would need to cover the relocation costs of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 6,000 for a line that had been installed without her consent. In search of a resolution, Solanki filed a grievance on the CPGRAMS portal. The authorities reviewed her case and promptly relocated the service line to a nearby pole, allowing her construction to resume. This successful resolution highlights the effectiveness of the grievance redressal system in addressing citizen concerns.
