CONVERSION OF MANNED GATES TO ROBs AND RUBs

The construction of Road Over Bridges (ROB)/Road Under Bridges (RUB) is being initiated to remove manned level crossing gates and is an ongoing process in all areas of Indian Railways. The priority of level crossing (LC) elimination is based on its impact on safety in railway operations, train mobility, impact for road users and feasibility, etc. 30602 crore was spent.

As of 25.07.2023, a total of 1863 ROB and 2490 RUB have been fined on all zone railways, which are in different stages of planning and execution. Rs. 8000 crore has been allocated during the year 2023-24 out of which Rs. 1549 crore has been used till June 2023.

In order to improve safety in train traffic, increase mobility and speed up road crossing works, The railroad has issued a new policy on the matter 02.03.2023.

This information was given by the Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
