Chairman NHAI Holds meeting to find solution for Waterlogging on NH in Gurugram

In order to address the problem of water logging on the National Highway in Gurugram district of Haryana, a meeting was organized at the NHAI headquarters in New Delhi. Chaired by NHAI President, Shri Santosh Kumar Yadav, the meeting was attended by Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) CEO, Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) officials, Municipal Corporation Manesar (MCM), Municipal Corporation Delhi (MCD) , Delhi Cantonment Board (DCB) and other senior NHAI officials.

In addition to finding immediate and permanent solutions to avoid water logging problems on the national highways in the region, the officials also discussed various aspects of finding effective solutions to prevent trespassing, unauthorized cutting and illegal connection to the national highways.

Officials deliberated on developing a multi-pronged strategy to provide an effective solution to water logging. As an immediate measure, the installation of water pumps in low-lying areas was discussed together with suitable measures for effective rainwater drainage. The NHAI President stressed better coordination across the entire government. agencies for timely intervention to address the problem.

In order to study the reasons for the backwater around Dhaula Kuan and Subroto Park, a specialized agency will be commissioned to suggest the corrective measures.

Furthermore, design issues of Gurugram- Pataudi- Rewari, Dwarka Expressway and Gurugram, Sohna were also discussed during the meeting to provide a safe and seamless travel experience to the National Highway commuters.
