CBN Busts Major MD Powder Manufacturing Operation in Madhya Pradesh

In a significant crackdown on drug manufacturing, the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Madhya Pradesh Unit, successfully uncovered a large-scale operation producing psychotropic substances. The enforcement action led to the seizure of a staggering 31.250 kilograms of MD powder and the dismantling of an illicit drug manufacturing lab located at Teerth Nursery and Farms in Village Amla Agar.

Following credible intelligence, CBN officers carried out a strategic raid on the secluded farmhouse, situated about 3.5 kilometers from the main road. This covert location indicated the suspects’ clear intent to conceal their illegal activities. During the operation, three individuals were apprehended in connection with the drug lab found within the nursery premises.

Seizure of Large Quantity of Drugs

A meticulous search of the facility uncovered 31.250 kg of MD powder concealed in a bag inside the house. Interrogation of the detained suspects revealed that this psychotropic substance had been produced clandestinely by them. They further disclosed that a fully operational illicit laboratory was set up in one of the rooms of the nursery.

The evidence collected during the search included various utensils, halogen bulbs, and machinery utilized in synthesizing MD powder. Additionally, officers discovered approximately 600 kilograms of chemicals stored in a Mahindra Bolero Pickup parked nearby, further indicating the scale of the drug-making operation. All seized items have been taken into custody in accordance with the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Interrogation Unveils Scale of Manufacturing

Further interrogation revealed alarming details; two of the arrested individuals were engaged in the extensive production of MD powder. They indicated that they had enough materials on hand, barring one crucial precursor, to manufacture between 250 to 300 kilograms of MD powder. This underscores the serious threat posed by their illegal activities.

All three suspects have been formally arrested under the relevant laws, and investigations continue to trace and dismantle the entire network of drug manufacturing and trafficking. The CBN remains committed to eliminating drug trafficking and underground production efforts, reinforcing its pledge to a drug-free India by aggressively targeting narcotics networks throughout the nation.
