CBFC Censors Condom Brands and Edits Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler References in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

IPL has concluded, paving the way for a wave of new film releases starting this Friday, June 5. The highly anticipated Bollywood film, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by the renowned David Dhawan, is set to make its debut. The film has generated buzz thanks to its lively trailers, catchy songs, and an impressive cast. Recently, the film completed the censor process, and details about the modifications requested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) have emerged.

CBFC Modifications and Censor Certificate

The CBFC granted *Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai* a U/A 16+ certificate, but not without requesting several changes. The Examining Committee identified four instances where specific words needed to be replaced with more appropriate alternatives. Additionally, a visual depicting an inappropriate hand gesture was flagged for alteration.

In a notable move, the CBFC mandated that the names of a condom brand be blurred out, and any references to flavor names be muted. Furthermore, a scene featuring the names of cricketers Jos Butler and Ben Stokes was edited down to six seconds. The committee also requested that the filmmakers zoom in on the faces and upper bodies of women in dance sequences to avoid any visibility of undergarments.

After implementing these changes, the film received its censor certificate on May 27, confirming a runtime of 136.40 minutes, or 2 hours, 16 minutes, and 40 seconds.

*Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai* boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde, Maniesh Paul, Chunky Pandey, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, Rakesh Bedi, Ali Asgar, and Rajesh Kumar. As the first major Bollywood film to hit theaters post-IPL, *Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai* is poised to attract a significant audience eager for entertainment.
