C-DOT Introduces 14 Indigenous Quantum Products on Foundation Day

The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), India’s premier telecom research and development center under the Department of Telecommunications, revealed 14 innovative quantum products during its 43rd Foundation Day celebrations in New Delhi. These cutting-edge technologies focus on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), showcasing India’s strides in securing communication networks against future quantum computing threats.

Innovative Quantum Solutions Unveiled

Among the newly launched products is the Q-AKSHAY CD, a compact Quantum Key Distribution system designed for secure key generation and distribution over fiber networks. Following closely is the Q-AKSHAY MD, which utilizes the Measurement Device Independent protocol to enhance security by mitigating vulnerabilities tied to measurement devices.

Additionally, the C-SPD Single-Photon Detector and the C-RD wideband RF driver are sub-modules essential for high-performance quantum communication applications. The Q-SETU serves as a quantum-safe encryptor for Layer 3 communications, boasting a throughput of 80 Mbps, while the Q-MAHASETU targets enterprise-level networks with up to 40 Gbps throughput.

Defence and Strategic Applications

For defence applications, the Q-VIKRAM quantum-safe encryptor offers protection for sensitive communications with a throughput of up to 1 Gbps. The Q-AMOG improves security for high-capacity optical links at 200 Gbps, and the Q-PARAKRAM also caters to Layer 2/3 networks with similar throughput capabilities, ensuring robust security for strategic communications.

Addressing Cybersecurity Challenges

Other noteworthy products include the Q-DARSHAN, a quantum-safe video IP phone, and the Q-RAQSHAK, designed to safeguard enterprise network infrastructure. The Q-VAAYU focuses on securing wireless communication, while the Q-VAJRA1000 serves as an upgrade node for existing networks, integrating quantum security into current infrastructures.

The introduction of these products marks a significant step in equipping India’s communication framework with quantum-resilient technologies. The series aims not only to provide secure encryption and communication solutions but also to strengthen the resilience of networks against the emerging challenges posed by quantum computing.

The unveiling of the Quantum Product Series reflects C-DOT’s commitment to turning indigenous research into practical solutions that enhance India’s communication infrastructure in the evolving quantum landscape. Alongside the product launch, C-DOT also introduced a booklet detailing its indigenous quantum solutions, showcasing the organization’s ongoing efforts to foster secure and future-ready communication technologies.
