Bharat Parv 2025: Celebrating India’s Cultural Heritage
Bharat Parv is an annual event that showcases India’s rich cultural heritage. Since its inception in 2016, it has been held from January 26th to 31st at the historic Red Fort in New Delhi. This celebration coincides with Republic Day, making it a significant part of the festivities. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Bharat Parv takes place at the Lawns and Gyan Path in front of the Red Fort. The event aims to promote tourism and foster a sense of national pride among citizens.
A Grand Celebration of Culture and Cuisine
Bharat Parv 2025 promises to be an exciting event filled with diverse activities. The event will feature a display of Republic Day tableaux, performances by Armed Forces bands, and cultural showcases from various states and Union Territories. Visitors can indulge in the rich flavors of India at 59 food stalls, which will include offerings from state governments, hotel management institutes, and food demonstrations through studio kitchens.
In addition to food, the event will host 70 stalls dedicated to handicrafts and handlooms. These stalls will feature products from various artisans and organizations, including the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED). This blend of culinary delights and handicrafts will provide attendees with a comprehensive experience of India’s cultural diversity.
The theme for this year’s event is “Dekho Apna Desh,” which translates to “See Your Country.” This theme encourages citizens to explore and appreciate India’s rich heritage. As part of this initiative, attendees can participate in the “People’s Choice Voting” by scanning a QR code or visiting a designated website. This interactive element aims to engage citizens and highlight popular and emerging tourist destinations across the country.
Engaging Activities for All Ages
Bharat Parv 2025 is designed to be an inclusive event, offering activities for people of all ages. The event will feature an activity zone where visitors can participate in Nukkad Natak (street plays), quizzes, and painting competitions. These activities will involve school and college students, encouraging youth participation and creativity.
The event will also include experiential zones and DIY activities, allowing attendees to engage hands-on with various cultural elements. This interactive approach aims to foster a deeper understanding of India’s traditions and heritage. Special performances by regional associations and popular artists will further enrich the cultural experience, showcasing the vibrant diversity of Indian art forms.
In addition to cultural performances, the event will feature a display of Republic Day tableaux and performances by bands from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and paramilitary forces. These displays will not only entertain but also instill a sense of patriotism among attendees.
Participating Organizations and Free Entry
Bharat Parv 2025 will see participation from various organizations, including all state and Union Territory tourism and culture departments. A total of 22 central ministries and departments will also be involved, showcasing their contributions to India’s cultural landscape. Notable ministries include Defence, Railways, Ayush, and Culture, among others.
Other organizations, such as Rashtrapati Bhawan, Tihar Jail, and the Aga Khan Trust, will also participate, adding to the event’s diversity. This collaboration among various entities highlights the collective effort to promote India’s cultural heritage.
The event will be open to the public, with free entry. It will run from 5 PM to 9 PM on January 26th and from 12 PM to 9 PM from January 27th to 31st. This accessibility ensures that everyone can partake in the celebrations and experience the richness of Indian culture.
