Bangladesh Government Responds to BCB Election Scandal Following Fraud Investigation

Ahesan emphasized that the unilateral nominations were made without justifiable reasons, suggesting ulterior motives aimed at securing favorable outcomes in the elections. Concerns Over E-Voting Process
The report also scrutinized the e-voting process used during the BCB elections. It indicated that the e-voting was conducted from a specific location, compromising the confidentiality of the votes. Interviews with voters revealed that the e-voting system appeared to be pre-planned, undermining the democratic principles that should govern such elections.
The committee noted that many voters were present at the polling station on the day of physical voting, yet e-voting was conducted at the Sheraton Hotel in Dhaka the night before. This raised alarms about the legitimacy of the voting process, with the committee suggesting that it resembled vote-rigging.
