He shared how Erica Huber, based at the Indian Embassy in Paraguay, is providing Ayurveda consultations. Ayurveda’s Global Footprint

Their efforts have led to the signing of 24 country-level and 48 institute-level Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). These agreements foster collaborative research and education in Ayurveda. Additionally, 15 academic chairs have been established in various countries to promote Ayurveda education and research. Ayush Information Cells, which serve as knowledge hubs, operate in 39 locations across 35 countries. The Ministry’s commitment to Ayurveda is evident in its strategic partnerships. Notable agreements include a Donor Agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO) and a MoU on Medicinal Plants Cooperation with Vietnam. These collaborations aim to advance India’s vision of holistic health for all. The establishment of the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Centre in Jamnagar further underscores the global recognition of Ayurveda. Such initiatives highlight India’s leadership in traditional medicine and its relevance in modern healthcare.

The success of the 9th Ayurveda Day, celebrated on October 29, 2024, across 150 countries, showcases Ayurveda’s growing acceptance worldwide. Themed “Ayurveda Innovations for Global Health,” the event highlighted India’s leadership in traditional medicine and wellness solutions. This celebration not only promotes Ayurveda but also emphasizes its potential to address global health challenges.

Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, acknowledged the impact of the government’s global initiatives. He stated that the vision of Prime Minister Modi and the continuous support from the Minister of State for Ayush have been pivotal in building Ayurveda’s global acceptance.
