Ayurveda Education Boosted at RAV’s 28th Convocation

In a significant event held in New Delhi, the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV) celebrated its 28th Convocation and Shishyopanayaniya Samskara today. The ceremony not only recognized the achievements of Ayurvedic practitioners but also marked the accreditation of one international and six national institutions, enhancing the quality of Ayurveda education. Additionally, RAV honored several distinguished individuals with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their exemplary contributions to the field.

Celebrating Excellence in Ayurveda

The convocation ceremony was graced by the presence of Union Minister of State for Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, who commended RAV’s efforts in acknowledging the invaluable contributions of Ayurvedic practitioners. He highlighted the importance of the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Fellow of RAV Award, which celebrate the dedication of individuals in promoting Ayurveda. During his address, he introduced the “Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan” initiative, aimed at mapping the natural health profiles of the Indian population. This initiative underscores the growing significance of Ayurveda in preventive healthcare, urging practitioners to embrace technology and research to enhance their practices.

New Educational Initiatives Launched

Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, also addressed the gathering, announcing the launch of the Diplomate of National Board Ayurveda (DNB) program. This program represents a major advancement in Ayurvedic education, aiming to elevate the standards of training for future practitioners. Furthermore, he introduced a 7.5-year Gurukul Schooling Program, designed to reinforce the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara, providing students with an immersive learning experience that connects them with experienced Gurus in the field.

Honoring Dedication and Commitment

The event saw the recognition of over 100 CRAV Gurus and 120 Shishyas from across the country, celebrating their commitment to the Guru-Shishya tradition. Shri Jadhav praised RAV’s innovative approach to education through the CRAV course, which ensures that students receive authentic Ayurvedic knowledge directly from seasoned practitioners. The accreditation of one international and six national institutions further emphasizes RAV’s commitment to enhancing the quality of Ayurveda education and promoting its global presence.

Lifetime Achievement Awards Presented

During the ceremony, several distinguished individuals were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Awards, including Prof. Banwari Lal Gaur from Jaipur, Prof. Kulwant Singh from Jammu and Kashmir, Vaidya Mohan Narayan Tambe from Satara, and Dr. Bidhubhusan Nanda from Dhenkanal. Additionally, the Fellow of RAV (FRAV) Awards were presented to various esteemed practitioners from across India, recognizing their significant contributions to the field of Ayurveda. This event not only celebrated individual achievements but also reinforced the collective commitment to advancing Ayurveda as a vital component of healthcare in India.
