Artisans Shine at Craftकथा – 2025 Exhibition in New Delhi

In a vibrant celebration of India’s rich artistic heritage, the ‘Craftकथा – 2025’ exhibition was inaugurated today by Smt. Sudha Murty, a distinguished Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), at Handloom Haat, Janpath, New Delhi. This significant event marks the beginning of the National Handicrafts & Heritage Week 2025, aiming to promote sustainable livelihoods for artisans across the country. Smt. Murty was joined by senior officials, including Ms. Amrit Raj, Development Commissioner of Handicrafts, and Dr. M. Beena, Development Commissioner of Handlooms.
Celebrating India’s Craftsmanship
Craftकथा – 2025 is not just an exhibition; it’s a platform that showcases the diverse craft traditions of India. The initiative emphasizes empowering artisans by providing them a stage to exhibit their creativity and craftsmanship. The event is organized in collaboration with the National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC) and the All India Artisans & Craft Workers Welfare Association (AIACA). Together, these organizations aim to unite the myriad of India’s craft traditions, showcasing master artisans and unique handmade products all in one place. This collaboration underscores a commitment to celebrating the skill and dedication of craftsmen throughout the nation.

Craftकथा – 2025 is designed for everyone—craft lovers, buyers, designers, students, and the general public. It provides an open invitation to explore the creativity inherent in Indian craftsmanship. The exhibition runs from 11 AM to 8 PM daily until December 17, 2025, ensuring plenty of opportunities for visitors to immerse themselves in India’s artistic landscape.
Empowering Local Artisans
This initiative also highlights the ongoing efforts by the Office of the Development Commissioner for Handicrafts. Their objective is to support craft clusters and broaden market access for the flourishing handicraft sector in India. By showcasing the talents of local artisans, Craftकथा – 2025 ultimately seeks to strengthen the grassroots craft ecosystems and promote the importance of sustainable practices in the industry.
