Apple’s iPhone 16e Launch Sparks Buzz for iPhone 17e

Apple has officially launched the iPhone 16e, the latest addition to its iPhone 16 lineup, featuring the company’s first cellular modem and the powerful A18 chip. Available for purchase in India starting today, the iPhone 16e has already generated excitement about its successor, the iPhone 17e. Recent leaks suggest that the iPhone 17e could make its debut in February 2026, shortly after the anticipated release of the iPhone 17 series.

iPhone 17e Expected Launch Timeline

According to analysts from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), Apple is likely to introduce the iPhone 17e around February 2026, following the launch of the core iPhone 17 models in September 2025. This strategy mirrors the launch pattern of Google’s Pixel series, where flagship models are unveiled in the fall, and more affordable variants are released in the spring. The iPhone 17 lineup is expected to include several models, such as the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Historically, Apple has not adhered to a consistent launch schedule for its iPhone SE models. The original iPhone SE debuted in March 2016, followed by the second generation in April 2020, and the third generation in March 2022. The anticipated iPhone 17e aims to fill a similar niche, potentially replacing the iPhone 5C’s legacy from 2013, with analysts optimistic about its success based on its features and market positioning.

iPhone 16e Pricing and Features

The iPhone 16e is priced starting at Rs. 59,900 for the base model, which includes 128GB of storage. Higher storage options are available, with the 256GB model priced at Rs. 69,900 and the 512GB variant at Rs. 89,900. The device is currently available for sale in India.

Equipped with Apple’s custom C1 modem, the iPhone 16e operates on iOS 18 and features Face ID technology. It boasts a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and is powered by the A18 chip, enhancing its performance capabilities. The rear camera system includes a 48-megapixel lens with optical image stabilization (OIS), while the front features a 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera for selfies and video calls. Additionally, the iPhone 16e has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, a USB Type-C port for charging, and supports 18W wired and 7.5W wireless charging.
