Apple Unveils iOS 18.5 Public Beta 1 Update

Apple has rolled out the iOS 18.5 Public Beta 1 update for iPhone users, introducing a few minor enhancements. This update includes subtle changes to the Mail app, allowing users to view Contact Photos directly within emails. Additionally, the AppleCare information banner has been revamped for better clarity and management of purchased plans. This release follows the recent launch of iOS 18.5 Developer Beta 2.
iOS 18.5 Public Beta 1 Update: What’s New
The iOS 18.5 Public Beta 1 update mirrors the minor changes seen in the earlier iOS 18.5 Developer Beta 1. While no significant alterations have been made to existing apps or features, the update introduces a new option for toggling Contact Photos in the Mail app. Users can now access this feature by tapping the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the screen, a shortcut that was previously limited to the Settings app.
In addition to Contact Photos, users can customize their Mail experience further by disabling the Group by Sender, categories, and AI priority messages options through the same three-dot menu. These enhancements aim to streamline user interaction within the Mail app, making it more intuitive and user-friendly.
Enhanced AppleCare Management Features
The update also brings visual improvements to the AppleCare and Warranty Coverage page. Users can now find a new section for AppleCare coverage within the Settings app. To access this feature, navigate to Settings > General > AppleCare and Warranty. This new link allows users to gain insights into their purchased coverage easily. Moreover, iPhone users can manage their AppleCare plans more efficiently by selecting a device from their Apple Account. This feature is designed to simplify the process of reviewing and adjusting coverage, ensuring users have quick access to important information regarding their plans.
Looking Ahead: Future iOS Developments
As the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 approaches, Apple is expected to shift its focus from the iOS 18 update to the development of new features for the upcoming iOS 19. While details about iOS 19 remain undisclosed, the anticipation surrounding its release continues to grow. Apple enthusiasts are eager to see what innovations the tech giant will unveil in the next iteration of its operating system.
