Apple has officially rolled out its much-anticipated iOS 18.4 update for iPhone users, introducing a host of innovative features. This update enhances Apple Intelligence capabilities, including Priority Notifications and Visual Intelligence, now available on iPhone 15 Pro models. Notably, the update expands access to these AI features in India and other regions, eliminating the need for users to set their device language to English (US).

The iOS 18.4 update significantly broadens the language support for Apple Intelligence features. Users can now access these advanced functionalities in multiple languages, including Chinese (Simplified), English (India, Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish. This means that iPhone users in India can utilize the AI features without needing to change their device language settings, making the technology more accessible to a diverse audience.

One of the standout additions in this update is the support for Visual Intelligence on the iPhone 15 Pro models. Originally launched with the iPhone 16 in September, this visual lookup tool harnesses Apple Intelligence to provide users with instant information about objects and locations. It can summarize text, translate languages, and identify phone numbers or email addresses for easy contact addition. Users can also enable web searches to find products, solve math problems, or even ask ChatGPT for more information.
While the new Camera Control button on the iPhone 16 enhances this feature, iPhone 15 Pro users can access it through the Action button and a dedicated toggle in the Control Centre. Additionally, the update introduces an Apple Vision Pro app, allowing users to download apps and games for the Vision Pro headset from the App Store. This app also offers curated films and shows for mixed reality experiences, along with tips and other relevant information.
Another notable feature is Review Summaries, which compiles user reviews of apps and games into a comprehensive overview, helping potential users quickly gauge an app’s quality without sifting through individual comments. The update also includes new toggles for existing functionalities like talking to Siri and Visual Intelligence. Furthermore, an Ambient mode toggle has been added, enabling users to play soothing soundscapes in the background. The Apple News+ app now showcases recipes from global publishers, while the Image Playground app introduces Sketch as a new style option alongside animation and illustration.
