Anees Bazmee Addresses No Entry 2 Delays: “Some Films Have Their Own Destiny”

The journey to the much-anticipated sequel of the 2005 comedy hit No Entry has been fraught with challenges. Over the years, the film has faced numerous delays, casting changes, and scheduling conflicts. However, director Anees Bazmee has reassured fans that the project is still very much alive. In a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, Bazmee addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding the future of the sequel, which has encountered several setbacks since its announcement.

Delays and Casting Changes

Reflecting on the film’s tumultuous path, Bazmee remarked, “Kuch filmon ki kundli hoti hai. Main maanta hoon ki kundli hoti hai. Kabhi koi film jaldi ban jaati hai, kabhi der se banti hai. Lekin Inshallah, hum sabki koshish hai ki yeh film bane.” His comments come after producer Boney Kapoor revealed a new cast for the sequel in March 2024, featuring Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, and Diljit Dosanjh. This announcement sparked excitement among fans eager for a follow-up to the original film, which starred Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan.

Despite the initial enthusiasm, the project soon encountered scheduling complications. Bazmee became busy wrapping up Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and subsequently took on another project with Akshay Kumar, which further delayed the timeline for No Entry 2. The casting situation also shifted dramatically, with Diljit Dosanjh exiting the film due to his packed international music schedule, including global tours. Reports later indicated that Varun Dhawan also stepped away from the project, leaving Arjun Kapoor as the sole actor remaining from the newly announced trio.

Optimism for the Future

Despite these hurdles, Bazmee remains hopeful about the film’s prospects. He expressed that the delays have not shaken his confidence in the project. The director shared that he has poured immense passion into the script, considering it one of his strongest works. “Jo bhi log is film se jude hue hain, sab bahut excited hain. Aur log is film ko bahut pasand karenge,” he stated, emphasizing the enthusiasm of everyone involved in the film.

For now, fans of the beloved comedy franchise may need to exercise a bit more patience as the project continues to navigate its challenges.
