Amrit Udyan Opens for Public Viewing

The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, inaugurated the Amrit Udyan Winter Annuals Edition 2025 on February 1, 2025. This beautiful garden will be open for public viewing from February 2 to March 30, 2025. Visitors can explore the lush landscapes and vibrant flowers during this period. The Amrit Udyan promises a delightful experience for nature lovers and families alike.

Visiting Hours and Special Days

The Amrit Udyan will welcome visitors six days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, it will remain closed on Mondays for maintenance. Additionally, the garden will not be accessible on specific dates: February 5 due to polling for the Delhi Legislative Assembly, February 20 and 21 for the Visitorsโ€™ Conference at Rashtrapati Bhavan, and March 14 in observance of Holi.

Special categories of visitors will have designated days to enjoy the garden. On March 26, the garden will open for divyangjan (persons with disabilities). The following day, March 27, is reserved for personnel from the defense, paramilitary, and police forces. March 28 will honor women and tribal womenโ€™s self-help groups, while March 29 is dedicated to senior citizens. These special arrangements aim to ensure that diverse groups can appreciate the beauty of the Amrit Udyan.

Booking and Entry Details

Entry to the Amrit Udyan is free of charge. Visitors can book their slots online at Rashtrapati Bhavan’s official website. Walk-in entries are also permitted, allowing for flexibility in planning visits. All visitors must enter and exit through Gate No. 35 of the Presidentโ€™s Estate, located near the intersection of North Avenue and Rashtrapati Bhavan.

To facilitate access, a shuttle bus service will operate every 30 minutes from Central Secretariat Metro Station to Gate No. 35. This service will run from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visitors are allowed to carry mobile phones, electronic keys, purses, handbags, and water bottles. Facilities such as drinking water, toilets, and first aid will be available throughout the garden to ensure a comfortable experience.

Garden Attractions and Cultural Events

The Amrit Udyan features a well-planned route for visitors, including the Bal Vatika, Plumeria theme Garden, Bonsai Garden, Central Lawn, Long Garden, and Circular Garden. This year, visitors can look forward to seeing tulips, 140 different types of roses, and over 80 other flower varieties. The garden’s diverse flora promises a colorful and fragrant experience.

In addition to the garden’s opening, Rashtrapati Bhavan will host the Vividhta Ka Amrit Mahotsav from March 6 to 9, 2025. This event will celebrate the rich cultural heritage and unique traditions of Southern India. Visitors can also explore Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum from Tuesday to Sunday.
