Aero-India 2025: A Focus on Futuristic Aerospace Technologies

The 15th edition of the Biennial Aero-India International Seminar kicked off in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on February 8, 2025. This two-day seminar is organized by the Centre for Military Airworthiness & Certification (CEMILAC) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). It is held in collaboration with the Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) as a precursor to the larger Aero India 2025 event, which will take place from February 10 to 14, 2025. The seminar serves as a vital platform for discussing advancements in aerospace technologies and military airworthiness.
A Premier Global Aerospace Event
The Aero-India International Seminar is a significant event in the global aerospace sector. This yearโs theme is “Futuristic Aerospace Technologies: Challenges in Design Validation.” The focus is on emerging trends in aerospace technologies and the challenges associated with military airworthiness and certification. Experts and industry leaders will engage in discussions about the latest innovations and the hurdles that come with them.
International delegates from renowned companies are attending the seminar. Notable participants include Airbus Defence and Space from Spain, Collins Aerospace, GE Aerospace, Martin-Baker, MBDA, and Rolls-Royce from the UK, as well as Rafael Advanced Defense Systems from Israel and SAFRAN from France. Indian companies such as Abeyaantrix Solutions, Ansys Inc., Globals Inc., JSR Dynamics Pvt. Ltd, RAPHE mPhibr, and TAQBit Labs Private Limited are also taking part. This diverse participation underscores the seminar’s importance as a hub for collaboration and knowledge exchange in the aerospace field.

Notable Speakers and Participants
The seminar features prominent figures in the aerospace and defense sectors. Dr. V. Narayanan, Secretary of the Department of Space and Chairman of ISRO, serves as the Chief Guest. Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary of the Department of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO, is the Guest of Honour. Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, President of AeSI, is also present at the event.
Approximately 1,100 delegates from various sectors, including DRDO, Defence Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Armed Forces, and private industries, are participating. This includes representatives from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Furthermore, 33 speakers from India and abroad will deliver technical talks on a wide range of topics, enriching the discussions and providing valuable insights into the future of aerospace technologies.
