ADMIRAL MOHD NAZMUL HASSAN, CHIEF OF THE NAVAL STAFF, BANGLADESH NAVY, VISIT TO INDIA

Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Naval Staff of Bangladesh Navy, is on a five-day official visit to India from 12 to 16 September 23. A meeting with the Chief of Defense Staff is scheduled during the visit , Chief of the Navy Staff, Minister of Defense, Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as other high-ranking officials of the Italian government.

Adm Hassan laid a wreath and paid homage at the National War Memorial on 13 Sep 23, followed by a meeting with Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of Naval Staff at South Block, where he was accorded a ceremonial guard of honor. Both naval commanders discussed issues related to strengthening cooperation in the field of operations, training, information exchange and participation in multilateral constructions.

During bilateral interactions, cooperation issues, such as coordinated patrol along the international maritime border line, bilateral exercise BONGOSAGAR, conduct of naval training and mutual visits of delegations, are likely to be discussed.

After completing engagements in New Delhi, Admiral M. Nazmul Hassan will visit Mumbai, where he will interact with the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command and also visit a locally built Indian naval vessel.

India and Bangladesh share bonds of history, language, culture and a host of other commonalities. The excellent bilateral ties reflect an all-encompassing partnership based on sovereignty, equality, trust and understanding, which goes beyond strategic ties.
