Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant visit to Rajasthan and Haryana on December 9th. Inauguration of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024
On December 9th, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC). The event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM. This summit aims to attract investment and foster economic development in the state. The theme for this yearโs summit is โReplete, Responsible, Ready.โ
The summit will feature 12 sectoral thematic sessions that will cover various important topics. These include water security, sustainable mining, sustainable finance, inclusive tourism, and innovations in agri-business. Additionally, there will be sessions focused on women-led startups. The event will also host eight country sessions, discussing themes such as “Water Management for Livable Cities” and “Trade & Tourism.”
Moreover, the Rajasthan Global Business Expo will run concurrently with the summit. This expo will showcase thematic pavilions, including the Rajasthan Pavilion and Country Pavilions. Over 32 countries, including 16 partner nations and 20 international organizations, are expected to participate. The Pravasi Rajasthani Conclave and MSME Conclave will also take place during the three-day event, further enhancing opportunities for networking and collaboration.
Launch of the Bima Sakhi Yojana in Haryana
After his engagements in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Panipat, Haryana, where he will launch the Bima Sakhi Yojana. This initiative, developed by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), aims to empower women aged 18 to 70 who have completed at least Class X. The program will provide specialized training and a stipend for the first three years to promote financial literacy and insurance awareness among these women.
Once trained, participants will have the opportunity to work as LIC agents. The program also opens pathways for these women to qualify for Development Officer roles within LIC. During the launch event, the Prime Minister will distribute appointment certificates to the prospective Bima Sakhis, marking a significant step towards women’s empowerment and financial inclusion in the region.
This initiative aligns with the government’s broader goals of enhancing women’s roles in the workforce and ensuring they have access to financial resources. By equipping women with the necessary skills and knowledge, the Bima Sakhi Yojana aims to create a more inclusive economy.
Foundation Stone for Maharana Pratap Horticultural University
In addition to launching the Bima Sakhi Yojana, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the main campus of Maharana Pratap Horticultural University in Karnal. This project represents a significant investment in agricultural education and research, with an estimated cost of over Rs 700 crore.
The university will cover an expansive area of 495 acres and will include one College of Horticulture for both graduate and postgraduate studies. It will also feature five schools that focus on ten different horticulture disciplines. The establishment of this university aims to promote crop diversification and advance research in horticultural technologies.
This initiative is crucial for enhancing agricultural practices and ensuring sustainable development in the region. By focusing on research and education, the university will contribute to the overall growth of the horticulture sector in India, benefiting farmers and consumers alike.
