Telangana is the eleventh-largest stateย and theย twelfth-most populated state in India. On 2 June 2014, the area was separated from the northwestern part of Andhra Pradeshย as the newly formedย stateย withย Hyderabad as its capital. Its other major cities include Warangal,ย Nizamabad,ย Khammam,ย Karimnagarย andย Ramagundam. Telangana is bordered by the states ofย Maharashtraย to the north,ย Chhattisgarhย to the northeast,ย Karnatakaย to the west, andย Andhra Pradeshย to the east and south.
