PM pays tributes to Dr. Rajendra Prasad on his Jayanti

Dr. Rajendra Prasad (3 December 1884-28 February 1963) was an Indian Independence activist, Lawyer, and Politician. He served as the first president of Independent India. He was born on 3 December 1884, Bihar, India. In 1902, he joined Presidency College, Kolkata. In 1905, he completed his Graduation, later he decided to study Arts and did his M.A. in Economics with a first division from the University of Calcutta in 1907. He was honoured with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has paid tributes to the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad on his Jayanti.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said.

“स्वतंत्र भारत के पहले राष्ट्रपति और अद्वितीय प्रतिभा के धनी भारत रत्न डॉ. राजेन्द्र प्रसाद को उनकी जयंती पर शत-शत नमन। उन्होंने देश के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में अपना विशिष्ट योगदान दिया। राष्ट्रहित में समर्पित उनका जीवन देशवासियों के लिए हमेशा प्रेरणास्रोत बना रहेगा।”

Recognition of Dr. Rajendra Prasad

The name Dr. Rajendra Prasad has never been not vying for recognition. His contribution to the nation and his action is recognition in itself.

He was the only President of India who was elected twice for the post. In 1962, He was honoured with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, formerly Rajendra Agricultural University, is an agriculture university that is named after him. It was India’s first-ever Imperial Agriculture Research Institute.
