DRUG DEMAND REDUCTION CAMPAIGN

Considering the work in the field of spirituality and social activities and the huge followings of these spiritual organizations, the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has associated various spiritual and faith-based organizations in the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA). These spiritual organizations have been asked to appeal to their followers to take the message of SAY NO TO DRUGS to every corner of the country, to give a message to young people in schools/universities/educational institutes about the need to undertake this campaign, to spread messages against substance abuse in their speeches, conduct rallies, seminars, workshops and events in the areas of implementation of the project. Youth, women, self-help groups and other movements under religious/spiritual organizations should be encouraged to lead programs under NMBA, use institutions’ media platforms to disseminate outreach programs, conduct programs on practice of a healthy lifestyle, including Yoga, meditation etc. through different centers under the organization, they disseminate IEC and NMBA printed materials through their gift shops/shops etc.

Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment signed Memoranda of Understanding with Brahma Kumaris, Sant Nirankari Mandal and Art of Living to spread the message of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) among young people, women, students, institutions educational etc.

This information was given by the Minister of State for the Ministry of Social Justice and Emancipation
