New Compendium Showcases 51 Inspiring Panchayat Success Stories

In a significant move to enhance governance at the grassroots level, Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, unveiled a new compendium titled “51 Stories of Panchayats Bringing Change for Good Governance” today in New Delhi. The event, attended by Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, along with other senior officials, highlighted the importance of these stories in fostering learning and inspiration among stakeholders in the Panchayati Raj system.

During the launch, Prof. Baghel emphasized that addressing public grievances is vital for building a responsive and participatory governance model. He stated that every resolved issue is a step forward in nurturing citizen-centric governance, showcasing the power of local administrations in making impactful changes.

Shri Vivek Bharadwaj echoed these sentiments, noting that the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, prioritizes the timely resolution of public grievances through the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS). He mentioned that efforts to address concerns from even the most remote areas of the country have fortified a citizen-friendly grievance redressal system, thereby strengthening public trust in governance structures.

The compendium, developed in collaboration with various state Panchayati Raj Departments, offers Fifty-One compelling case studies showcasing successful resolutions of public grievances documented through CPGRAMS. These narratives highlight how prompt and efficient handling of citizen concerns enhances service delivery, improves accountability, and strengthens essential civic infrastructure, ultimately transforming the lives of individuals at the community level.

As local governance continues to evolve, this collection not only serves as a source of inspiration but also as a roadmap for panchayats striving to implement effective governance practices. By sharing these success stories, the Ministry aims to motivate other panchayats and encourage them to adopt similar strategies for the betterment of their communities.
