Conducted between July 10 and July 20, 2026, the operation employed strategic coordination among multiple agencies, including the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). Preliminary investigations revealed that the massive shipment, which was falsely reported to be destined for Guinea-Bissau, was actually intended for diversion to Libya. This alarming misrepresentation prompted further scrutiny from the CBN, who acted decisively to prevent the drug consignment from entering illicit markets.
Arrests Made in Key Locations
The investigation unfolded in major Indian cities including Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kochi. In Bengaluru, authorities arrested the director of a local Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) connected to the drugs. As inquiries progressed, the CBN uncovered that the remaining conspirators were operating from Kerala. Continued intelligence efforts ultimately led to the capture of two additional suspects in Kochi, tightening the noose around the organized drug trafficking network.
