Railway Minister Enhances Connectivity for Khatu Shyam Ji Pilgrims
In a significant move aimed at improving travel facilities for devotees, Union Minister for Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, recently met a delegation from the Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Trust. This delegation, which included prominent figures such as Shri Sumedhanand Saraswati, a former Member of Parliament from Sikar, and Shri Jhabar Singh Kharra, the Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing in Rajasthan, discussed plans to enhance rail connectivity and facilities for the myriad of pilgrims visiting the esteemed temple.
The meeting was attended by key representatives from the Shri Shyam Mandir Committee, such as Shri Shakti Singh Chauhan, Shri Maanvendra Singh Chauhan, and Shri Mohan Singh (Das) Chauhan, who voiced their appreciation for the continuous efforts made by Indian Railways to improve infrastructure and travel experiences for pilgrims.
During the discussions, Minister Vaishnaw shared exciting plans for a new railway station that will significantly improve access for those traveling to Khatu Shyam Ji. The proposed station is set to be constructed along the Sikar–Ringas rail corridor, positioned conveniently between Palsana and Baori Thikria stations. This development is expected to cater to the heavy influx of worshippers visiting the temple each year.
Shri Vaishnaw outlined that the first phase of the project will focus on essential technical work, including engineering and signaling operations related to the existing railway lines as well as the construction of the new line. Following this, the station’s building will commence.
Located just about 11 kilometers from the renowned Khatu Shyam Ji Temple, the new station will reflect Rajasthan’s rich cultural and architectural heritage. The facility will host a modern booking office, spacious waiting areas, clean restrooms, and various passenger-friendly amenities aimed at ensuring a pleasant travel experience.
This ambitious development is anticipated to critically enhance rail access for the lakhs of visitors flocking to Khatu Shyam Ji annually. In addition to providing greater convenience for passengers, the new station will bolster regional connectivity, promote tourism in the area, stimulate local economic development, and further strengthen the railway infrastructure in the region.
