Alpha’s Musical Magic: Meet Rohansh and Abeer, Sons of Jatin-Lalit’s Lalit Pandit

Jatin-Lalit, the iconic music director duo, left an indelible mark on Bollywood in the 1990s and early 2000s. Their collaborations with Yash Raj Films (YRF) produced unforgettable soundtracks for films like “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,” “Mohabbatein,” “Hum Tum,” and “Fanaa.” Now, the legacy continues as their sons, Rohansh Pandit and Abeer Pandit, step into the limelight with their debut as film composers in YRF’s recently released film, “Alpha.”

New Generation Composers

The exciting news about Rohansh and Abeer was shared by actor-producer Viveck Vaswani on Facebook. He expressed his delight in watching “Alpha” and praised the young duo, stating, “It was a treat watching Alpha with the talented debut music director duo Rohansh Pandit and Abeer Pandit and their parents Meena Pandit and Lalit Pandit! The music is completely new age, sharp and sets tone for the high-octane action!” Vaswani also posted a photograph featuring the brothers alongside their father, Lalit Pandit, at YRF’s preview theatre.

Interestingly, the brothers are credited in the film simply as Rohansh and Abeer. This choice means that many viewers may not have realized their connection to the legendary Jatin-Lalit duo while watching the film.

Soundtrack Highlights

“Alpha” boasts a diverse soundtrack, featuring tracks like “Massacre,” “Champagne,” “Haaniya,” “Agni,” “Vaar Vaar,” “Shadows,” and “Rola Paen De.” In addition to these songs, Rohansh and Abeer composed themes for several key scenes, including a notable sequence featuring Hrithik Roshan. Their work marks a significant contribution to the film’s overall atmosphere and energy.

The brothers first gained attention earlier this year when they composed “Coming Home,” a soulful peace anthem produced by Warner Bros. Their journey into the music industry has certainly begun on a high note.

Legacy of Jatin-Lalit

Jatin-Lalit began their illustrious career as music directors with “Yaara Dildara” in 1991. They went on to create numerous memorable songs in films such as “Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar,” “Khiladi,” “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman,” “Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa,” “Khamoshi: The Musical,” and many more. Their collaboration with YRF resulted in some of the most beloved soundtracks in Bollywood history, with “Fanaa” being their last film together.
