Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna’s Netflix Film ‘Ikka’ Set for Exclusive Fan Screenings Ahead of Release

Veteran actors Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna are experiencing a career resurgence, thanks to their recent successes. Sunny Deol’s career received a significant boost with the blockbuster hit Gadar 2 (2023), followed by the decent performance of Jaat (2025) and the massive success of Border 2 (2026). Meanwhile, Akshaye Khanna has also made waves with his compelling portrayal of Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar (2025). Now, the two stars are set to share the screen in the upcoming film Ikka, which will premiere on Netflix on July 10. However, fans may have the opportunity to see the film in theaters before its streaming debut.

Special Fan Screenings Planned

A Twitter account named ‘LegendDeols’ announced on June 19 that fan screenings of Ikka are scheduled for July 8 in 3-4 cities, just two days before the official release. The account encouraged fans to express their interest in attending these screenings to secure tickets.

Bollywood Hungama reached out for confirmation and learned that the screenings are indeed being organized. A source revealed, “The makers are indeed planning to show Ikka to fans on the big screen. However, the July 8 date is not locked. A decision will be taken in the coming days.” The source added, “Ikka is a commercial film and watching it on the big screens in the presence of excited fans, amid hoots and whistles, will be truly an experience to cherish.”

A Gripping Courtroom Thriller

Ikka is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, known for his work on Maharaj (2024) and Hichki (2018). This film marks Sunny Deol’s first-ever Netflix original project. The courtroom thriller brings together Deol and Khanna for a gripping face-off, reuniting the two actors on screen after decades apart.

Set against the backdrop of a high-stakes courtroom battle, Ikka delves into themes of justice, morality, family, and the repercussions of past choices. The film also features acclaimed actors Tillotama Shome and Dia Mirza in pivotal roles. Tillotama plays a determined public prosecutor dedicated to achieving justice, while Dia portrays a wife and mother striving to maintain her family’s stability amid growing uncertainty and emotional turmoil.
