HTET 2026 Exam Shifted to July: New Dates Announced by HBSE

The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) has postponed the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2025. The exam will no longer take place on June 13 and 14, 2026. Instead, candidates will sit for the test on July 4 and 5, 2026. Board Chairman Shankar Lal Dhupad announced this decision through an official statement on Friday.

Administrative reasons prompted the board to defer the examination. The previous chairman, Dr Pawan Kumar Sharma, had announced on May 25th that the test would be held in mid-June. However, the board has now revised this schedule to provide more preparation time and address logistical concerns.

About the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test

The HTET is a state-level examination conducted to recruit teachers across multiple categories. Candidates can apply for Primary Teacher (PRT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) positions. This year, approximately 2.45 lakh aspirants have registered for the test across all three categories.

The application window for HTET 2025 ran from December 24, 2025, to January 5, 2026. Candidates had an opportunity to correct their application details between January 4 and 5, 2026. The postponement now gives registered candidates additional time to prepare for the revised examination schedule.
