NSFDC Achieves Record Funding for Scheduled Castes in 2025-26
The National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) has set a new milestone in fiscal year 2025–26 by recording its highest-ever disbursement since its establishment. The organization, which operates under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, announced a remarkable ₹775.26 crore in disbursements, showcasing a 27% growth from the previous fiscal year.
This impressive financial performance reflects NSFDC’s significant outreach efforts, with 59,002 beneficiaries benefiting from its schemes, an increase of 41.32% compared to FY 2024–25. Importantly, women made up a substantial portion of the beneficiaries, with 39,804 women receiving assistance, marking a 48% growth in female beneficiaries. This emphasizes the Corporation’s commitment to gender-responsive development.
Key Initiatives Fuel Growth
Among the notable initiatives, the VISVAS Yojana (Interest Subvention Scheme) led to the disbursement of ₹26.09 crore, aiding 98,748 individuals, which is an outstanding 334% increase from the previous year. Additionally, the SEED Scheme provided ₹11.18 crore to 1,450 Self Help Groups across four states, representing a 76% rise in funding. Furthermore, under the National Fellowship Scheme for Scheduled Castes (NFSC), ₹215.39 crore supported 4,219 scholars pursuing higher education.
NSFDC’s ongoing mission centers around economic empowerment for Scheduled Castes through concessional loans aimed at self-employment, education, skill development, and entrepreneurship. Since its inception, the Corporation has amassed a total cumulative disbursement of ₹9,567.14 crore, benefiting over 16.96 lakh individuals as of March 31, 2026.
Enhancing Efficiency and Outreach
This year, NSFDC focused on enhancing operational efficiency and expanding its outreach. A new website, compliant with GIGW 3.0 guidelines and the Digital Brand Identity Manual, is slated for launch. The corporation has also introduced a Loan Accounting and Management System (LAMS) integrated with the PM-SURAJ Portal, promoting transparency and digitization in loan management. Additionally, NSFDC has broadened its network of channel partners, including selected Small Finance Banks, which will facilitate wider access to concessional credit.
Regional workshops were organized in Mumbai, Solan, and Bengaluru for partner institutions, and the introduction of Micro Loans and Term Loans streamlined the lending process, making it more efficient and accessible.
The accomplishments of FY 2025–26 highlight NSFDC’s unwavering dedication to fostering inclusive growth and social justice through targeted financial and developmental initiatives. As the Corporation looks ahead, it remains committed to further expanding its reach and empowering the Scheduled Castes community.
