Mukul Choudhary’s Journey

Mukul Choudhary, a 21-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan, has made significant strides in his cricketing career. He gained recognition at the Under-23 level and showcased his talent in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he scored 173 runs in five innings at an impressive strike rate of 198.85. His performance caught the attention of IPL scouts, leading to his acquisition by the Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 2.60 crore during the IPL 2026 auction. Choudhary made his first-class debut in January 2023 and has been known for his ability to score runs during crucial death overs.

Family Support and Early Career

Mukul’s journey into professional cricket was significantly influenced by his father, Dalip Kumar Choudhary. Despite facing financial challenges and limited sports facilities in their hometown of Jhunjhunu, Dalip remained dedicated to supporting Mukul’s cricketing aspirations. He initially worked as a teacher before transitioning into real estate and the hotel business to fund Mukul’s training. Enrolling him at the SBS Cricket Academy in Sikar provided Mukul with the necessary coaching and practice to hone his skills.

Interestingly, Mukul did not start his cricketing journey as a wicketkeeper. Initially a medium-fast bowler, he stepped in as a wicketkeeper during a match when the team needed one. This unexpected transition proved successful, and he continued to develop his skills in that role. His dedication and hard work eventually led him to train at the Aravali Cricket Academy in Jaipur, where he received further guidance and support from his family, allowing him to focus entirely on his cricketing career.
