Successful Parsi Registration Camp Boosts Community Outreach

An enthusiastic turnout marked the Universal Parsi Registration Drive special facilitation camp held today in Mumbai. Organized by the Ministry of Minority Affairs with collaboration from the Bombay Parsi Panchayat, the event successfully registered approximately 300 individuals on the Jiyo Parsi portal. This initiative highlights a significant effort to enhance outreach and support within the Parsi community.
Jiyo Parsi Initiative: Reviving Community Numbers
The Jiyo Parsi scheme, launched by the Government of India during the 2013-14 period, aims to combat the declining population of the Parsi community. With a comprehensive approach, the scheme integrates structured interventions and scientific methodologies to stabilize and potentially increase their numbers.
Support Services Offered
The Jiyo Parsi program offers a variety of support services, including:
- Medical assistance for fertility treatments and pregnancy-related healthcare.
- Community health support, which provides financial aid for child care and assistance for dependent elderly individuals.
- Advocacy initiatives encompassing counseling, awareness campaigns, and outreach programs.
Government Commitment to Community Welfare
At the camp, Shri Shyama Prasad Roy, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, reiterated the Government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the Parsi community. He urged eligible individuals to take advantage of the available schemes and encouraged registered members to provide feedback to enhance the implementation of these initiatives.
Reflecting Trust and Awareness
The positive response at the camp signifies not only an increase in awareness about the Jiyo Parsi scheme but also strengthens the trust within the community towards government initiatives. This growing participation underscores the authorities’ dedicated efforts to preserve the rich cultural and demographic heritage of the Parsi people.
